Our team is hosted in a unique area, as the only FRC team in a school district covering 73 square miles, supporting 40 schools and 27,000 students. Half of these students are on free or reduced lunch programs. The logistics of managing this district have left STEM education on the backburner, making it a challenge to start FIRST teams and expand classroom curriculums.

In this environment, our team has focused from the beginning on breaking down both individual barriers for students and systemic barriers for schools and our district. Through a structured outreach program, we’ve used the FIRST program to eliminate obstacles between our community and STEM.
WE FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING GOALS
Reaching every student, in every grade level, through skill-appropriate STEM education and outreach events
Overcoming obstacles to FIRST and STEM with financial aid, volunteer hours, community advocacy, and the creation of momentum
Raising our broader community to new heights by connecting students and schools to the FIRST program
We’re a student-led team: our members manage team organization, business, designing, and building. This approach is what makes Charger Robotics members and alumni confident leaders with the skills and resources to pursue their passion.
Our students and alumni are uniquely passionate about this team mission. The student-directed structure enables us to fall and make mistakes - but the most important thing it does is teach us to get back up again. More than anything else, Chargers are life-long students who embody respect, teamwork, perseverance, and the future of STEM and FIRST.
3786 is not just a number; we’re a network of students and mentors working together to make our community a place of thriving STEM education and opportunity.
